The idea and concept of Climate Compatible Development (CCD) focuses on how to minimise the negative impacts of climate change and the ways the opportunities for development could be maximised while considering the negative impacts of climate change. Bangladesh is considered as one of the most vulnerable countries to the negative consequences of climate change. Climate change is adversely impacting the socio-economic and environmental scenario of the country. Bangladesh is considered as one of the most outstanding economic success stories among the countries in Asia. Due to climate change impacts, these development gains and increased productivity are at stake. The country has made required policies and frameworks for streamlining regulatory and institutional settings for having climate resilient sustainable development. The government has earnestly emphasised shifting the country’s vulnerability towards resilience and prosperity. The Mujib Climate Prosperity Plan (MCPP) counters damages and losses induced by climate change and equip vulnerable communities, industries and government to embrace new risk management paradigm to bring resilience and stability to vulnerable population and economy.
